Wanneer je in Muiderberg woont, hoef je helemaal niet met vakantie, althans niet als het aan Mellow (Q.T. of Joe Batt’s Arm) ligt. Martijn en Anne-Miek schrijven: “Hierbij wat foto’s van onze Mellow (Q.T. uit het nest van Oliver en Claire). De allerliefste labrador die je je maar kunt voorstellen, een enorme lieve knuffelkont. Grote vrienden met onze Pim de Britse korthaar.”
Mellow in het IJsselmeer. Met een beetje goede wil zwemt ze zo de Oranjesluis in en Amsterdam ligt aan haar voeten!

De eerste vakantiefoto’s zijn weer binnen. Dit zijn Bailey (McBeth of Joe Batt’s Arm)en Chester (Whole Lotta Love of Joe Batt’s Arm) (en baasje Philippe) met een in brons uitgevoerde soortgenoot.

Bailey en Chester met Marjan op de hoogste berg van Groot-Brittannië: de Ben Nevis.
Marjan schrijft: “Onze vakantie in Schotland was geweldig! Wat is dat een mooi land! Schotland met het klimaat van Zuid Frankrijk komt volgens mij dicht in de buurt van het paradijs!
Barfen met de jongens ging ook heel goed, ze hebben 3 weken bijna uitsluitend lam gegeten (dat was het goedkoopste) en ik heb ze niet horen klagen! Volgend jaar gaan we weer!”

Je kan het die jongen niet kwalijk nemen. Al geruime tijd is het hier rond de 35°C. Wij hebben het ook warm, maar wij hebben niet zoals Boris de hele dag een dikke bontjas aan. Zwemmen biedt wel even verkoeling, maar dan heb je het kort daarna toch weer gewoon warm.
Hij zal er wel aan wennen. Er lopen hier tientallen Labradors rond die er aan gewend zijn. Gelukkig is Boris een hond die lui kan zijn. Zodra er een soortgenoot in de buurt komt is dat prompt afgelopen, maar met ons ouwe lullen alleen gunt hij zich snel rust.

>Boris 8 Months!

Boris is 8 months old today! Quite a boy, eh?
He’s been with us for four and a half months now, and he’s becoming more loveable by the day. We added “bread in the morning” to our many rituals. After our morning walk I give Boris his bowl of dog food, but instead of eating it right away, he waits until I cut him a slice of bread. After eating the bread he’ll eat his proper food. He knows exactly that there won’t be bread when he gets his food at dinner time. Clever little bugger! )
>Boris’ Worst Nightmare

This is Mimi, Boris’ worst nightmare and enemy. On his first day with us in Nice Boris was attacked by her in a rather violent way. Ever since he’s terrified when he sees her.
Mimi is a stray cat, but some people in the neighborhood take care of her and feed her every day. Actually she’s not a problem to anyone, and I avoid her “territory” when I walk Boris.

Boris on the couch! Whereas Borises in our house are not allowed on couches! Anyway, it’s hard when he shows you how much he wants to be with you and appreciates your company. So yes, he’s allowed on the couch from now on. )
